Hiya, today I have for you a card I made for my Mum’s Mothers day card a few years back. I went for a Vintage Shabby Chic style made using some gorgeous papers and a Spellbinder Border Die.

As on the previous few posts this card is one from the photos that I found in an older folder on my computer. I really love this card and the photos don’t quite do it justice.

I started out with a 5″ square white card base and a gorgeous paper pack from Prima.  I chose the brown coloured paper and stuck this to the bottom of the front of the card before cutting out the ‘label’ shaped edge using a Spellbinders border die. It easily cut through both layers since the patterned layer was only paper. When positioning the die I made sure the centre point was right on the bottom of the card so that when cut the card could still stand up.

Next I added a piece of pearl pinky peach card to the inside back of the card and this then showed through to the front at the bottom where we had cut it away.

Back on the front I added the lovely delicate floral peach pink paper from the Prima Fairy Belle Pad and stuck this to the card. I matted it onto some more of the peach pink pearl card to make sure it matched with the inside. I then made a tag using the same two pieces of card / paper using another Spellbinders die. I stamped it using a Paper Trey Ink stamp and a green Colour Box ink pad.

Next I wrapped the front of the card with seam binding sticking to ends together flat onto the card in the position where I would be placing the bow later.  I then added a blob of my fabulous Pinflair glue gel over that join and added on my feather, flowers, gem stem and stick pins. Finally I added a messy bow made in the same seam binding with a lovely button on top to finish. So here it is, my Vintage Shabby Chic Mothers Day Card :-

So I hope you liked the card and sorry it is not so many photos but as before I figured you would prefer to see it even with a few photos rather than not at all 🙂 So for now hugs and have a great craft day,

Amanda Evans

  1. Lovely card – Kaiser Kraft have paper similar to this and I’ve had it for years, not really knowing what to do with it. Well now I know! Thanks for sharing – GORGEOUS stick pins!
    Hugs, Rose

    • To be honest it could be Kaisercraft. I had both the pads and was looking at them for this post trying to work out which one I used. I plumped for the Prima but … ?? lol! xx
