Pollyanna Pickering Safari Lion Card

Hiya, today I have a richly coloured and highly patterned card from the Pollyanna Pickering Wildlife Collection of papers, toppers etc. I went for something a bit different for me and really embraced the rich colours and patterns.

I think that it is very easy to be afraid of strong colours and highly patterned papers and the tendency is to use a little of them with something more neutral. I think that works well, and I certainly do like that look. However there was something about these papers and designs that made it impossible to choose just one, so I decided to leap in and use lots of them. I think that it worked because the patterns and colours were equally rich and vibrant so no-one over dominated, they complimented each other, and there was a little balance in the light and shade of the designs so it did not end up just one big blur. The other thing I did that I think helped is I added a thin mat on all the layers of black card which just added a little definition between each design – like a full stop in a long paragraph!
