Hiya, today I have something a bit different for you, a sympathy card for someone who has lost a beloved pet. It is a stamped card that I water coloured with my Distress Markers in a very simplistic style.

This is a stamp set that is actually in my own store because when I saw it I thought it was a rather different but also needed area to be covered by a card. Here is the link for you HERE and while you are there check out the other stamps that are there. I know the shop isn’t really where I want it to be yet but there is still a lot there including the infamous Pinflair Glue Gel lol!

Anyway back to the card, I decided to keep it pretty simple and so just stamped and embossed it using the cosmic shimmer detail black powder. Then as I said above, keeping to a really limited palette, I coloured the image in using my Distress Markers – see photo for colours.

I then cut around the image pretty tight and the sentiment separately, matting them onto the light grey card. I then got an A6 cream card and matted onto it a darker grey sheet from the DCWV stack as in the photo. I then positioned the image and sentiment as you see in the photo and just added a bone and paw prints onto the base layer and embossed that too. Finally just added some of the paper on the inside too. This not only looks nice it balances the weight of the front and back of the card. So here are the photos of my Stamped Pet Sympathy Card :-

So I hope you liked the card and don’t forget if you like the stamp set that you can pop along to my store and pick a set up there – well I got to give myself a bit of promotion lol! but in the meantime big hugs and have a great craft day,

Amanda Evans

  1. Very sweet card. They can be difficult to make so it’s a good idea to have some on hand that were made ahead of time.

    • It is hard to make and sometimes harder than a sympathy for a person in that you don’t quite know what tone the card should take for a pet. So glad you like sweetie xx

  2. Deearest Amanda, what a wonderful idea! I have thought of this for yrs and was going to make the Emergency Vet Clinic I had to go to a bunch of them and then they could sell them and put the profits towards a rescue fund that they know of that really needs it..I want to do this for a few Vet Clinics in our area, but esp for the Emergency one that is the only one open in the evening where so many people lose their pets…That grp of Vets and the entire staff give of themselves unselfishly..When my Porter was there a few wks ago, the tech, said she would stay up all night with him because she knew I was worried and she knew he had never been away from his brother or us…that meant so much…and when we lost our beloved 14 yr old 2 yrs prior we got the best of the best care from the entire team..they don’t have a fancy clinic, but they are the greatest people and people love their pets just like they were kids..The cards mean alot..They sent us one when our Moggi died but a beautiful handmade one for them to send I think would be extra special…So glad you had the idea..Your a sweetheart and I love you to pieces..Now I am bawling…with joy! thank you, Amanda..gotta get these stamps when I can..Love, V
