Hi all, today I have the second Simon says Stamp March card kit card for you. But today’s card might be a little unexpected if you have seen the kit. It’s not going down the yellow route but is just a beautiful clean and simple stamped tropical looking card.
When I was looking at this month’s kit I really liked the stamp set and wanted to do you a card that really just focused on using it.
So I took the piece of cream card from the kit and cut it to 5.25″ x 4″ to use for my stamping. When making the previous card I discovered that my colour box pigment inks we are great for those flatter larger stamps so I decided to use those again for this card. For details of all the products used to take a look at the bottom of this post which will have the links that you need. But specifically for this card I used the orange, scarlet, sunshine, lime and moss green color box inks. For the sentiment I used my Anna Griffin Warm Grey pigment ink. The Anna Griffin ink matched perfectly with the dark grey card that I used for the card base for my stamped piece. To make the card base I took the grey sheet of card from the kit (11″ x 8.5″) and cut it down to 8.5″ x 5.5″. Next I scored that to make a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card. Once all the stamping was done on my cream card all I did was stick it down onto the front of that grey card.
However because of my little boo-boo with stamping the sentiment (from SSS handwritten greetings stamp set) I needed to create a little label topper with my sentiment on. So I took my spellbinders labels one and labels one small die sets and created the mini sentiment topper for the card. It covered the error perfectly.
Finally the finishing touch was to add some of that gorgeous Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen to the centre of my stamped flowers. You really can only see the shimmer from it when it catches in the light. It was this more delicate effect that made me choose to use this pen instead of my Stickles.
So that’s it, our Simon Says Stamp March Kit Tropical Flower Stamped Card. I really enjoyed making it and thought it turned out really well despite my best effort to ruin it LOL!
I hope you liked it too and if you did I’d love to hear your comments and also for you to give me a thumbs up on the YouTube video. But for now hugs and have a great craft day,
