Hiya, today I have a video for you that follows on is one of my Easy Peasy videos – Easy Peasy Colouring Technique So what I have done for you is taken a cute little Elephant digi from Digi Stamp Boutique called Edwin and coloured him with a ‘one colour’ – by that I don’t mean you only used one colour on the whole image! lol! I mean that you have taken one colour for his body, one for the package etc etc. As opposed to the technique you often see in colouring videos of anywhere from 3 to 4 colours in each section of the image. The purpose of colouring him in this way was to show how you can just do one simple thing to take that easy ‘one colour’ colour and elevate it to a really professional finish. I then did it all again in Copics so you had the opportunity to see it in whichever was your favoured Alcohol Marker. I am afraid I don’t have any more brands so I can’t show any others 🙁 Now for the purposes of the video I did try to find as close a colour match between the brands. I had started with the Promarkers on this occasion but I didn’t quite have as perfect a match in Copics for his body. That said I still really liked him and at the end of the day it wasn’t really about a colour match but about the Easy Peasy Colouring Technique.

The card above is the original card that I made that I showed you in the video. I guess really it was this card that gave me the idea to do this video. Although technically it was actually my Dads idea as he saw me colour this while I was at the craft fair and asked isn’t that something that your subscribers would find helpful to see. I was ‘what do you mean’ and he said ‘well instead of all that colouring with a million colours used, something more simple like this’ Sometime, just really really, ever so occasionally my Dad does have a good idea. However it did wear his little brain out so probably no more bright ideas for a few years lol!! But in all seriousness I did think it was a good idea and I then took it and developed it a bit more. So here is the video and I would love to hear your comments and see if you have a go yourself colouring Edwin, Enjoy:-

Now on the finished card my card base was Simon Says Stamp Cardstock that you can colour on with your markers but it does not go through to the other side. This is fab if you want to make one layer cards like this. I have to say although it is good to colour on, it is not the very very best I have used, such as a marker card stock like the Neenah, Copic Xpress It, Pro Finish etc. I also made use of some SSS ink pads that came in a Set, A lovely Large Dots Stencil, a wonderfully versatile Sentiment Stamp Set and finally from my stash, a Martha Stewart Heart Punch and Cosmic Shimmer Glue. And of course my little tease for you of the gorgeous iridescent stars that are coming to my store soon – so keep watching! 🙂

All of the finished cards, a cute little herd of Edwins 🙂

Anyway I hope you enjoyed the video and I hope it will help those of you who are not so confident with colouring to have a go. I think you will see I have tried to keep it really Easy Peasy in technique, but not in the finished result 🙂 Have a great craft day, hugs

    • Im so glad that it has helped my lovely Pat. And I am hoping that it will help a few people have a go – after all the worst that can happen is you have to put it in the bin and then start again. 🙂 Im glad you liked the sparkly bits they will be in my store soon. I am just so behind cos I was looking after mum and her business, but now getting back in the saddle properly and trying to catch up on all the back log 🙂 BTW the panda’s were elephants lol! xxxx
