Hiya, today I have a gorgeous stamped and embossed coloured country scene card for you that I made as a welcome to your new home card. I really love the stamps and it really was nice to colour.
So with today’s card I started out with the stamp and worked outwards from there. So I stamped the stamp on some clarity stamp gloss card, to be honest I’m not really sure why I chose to stamp it on this card since it was my intention to colour it with my pro markers! It would’ve been better I think to have stamped onto some Neenah card stock or Copic card stock. That said it did colour up really nicely and it did give it quite a different look which in the end I actually did really like.
Once I had completed colouring the image, I cut it down to just outside of the edge of the image so as to leave a small white border and then popped it to one side while I made my card base.
So for my card base I took a white piece of card 12″ x 6″ scoring at 6″ to create a 6″ x 6″ top folding card. I then chose a number of different colours of American Crafts card that I felt complimented the colours in the design. I then took the dark olive green and the grey to make some mats for my image. I then cut a light green to 5 3/4 in.² and embossed using this stunning butterfly embossing folder.
Next I stamped my sentiment on to the darker moss green card, die cut it using a spellbinders slider tag die. I put this sentiment tag on to a gorgeous piece of velvet ribbon that matched the card perfectly.
I then tucked this behind my butterfly mat before I stuck it down onto my card base. Finally I stuck the image mat down centrally onto my card.
As a final touch I added some of the scraps of grey and pale green card to the inside of my card just to make it look a little more finished.
And that is it, our Country Scene Welcome Stamped Embossed Card – I think it turned out really nicely and I hope you do too. But for now hugs and have a great craft day,
18.6.15 I had a few requests asking what the stamp was that I used, I finally managed to locate it in my stash and it is a set of 3 by Stamps Away called Pilkington by the Water
Very pretty. I love all the shades of green. Where did you find the image? Is it rubber or digi?
its a rubber stamp and I finally them in my stash and they are by stamps away. I will add a photo to the post xx
