Hi Guys, today I have a cute card for you – Saturated Canary Thank You Girl Birthday Card. She is such a cute image but then all of the Saturated Canary Images are cute and it is always so hard to choose! This is another one of these images that I have coloured a while back and saved up for you for when my blog started. I enjoyed colouring her and it is a really good example I think of how you can use contrasting colours of alcohol marker and still create a really nice blend.

I printed the image out onto marker card and coloured her in with the pro markers shown below, I then die cut her using my spellbinders dies and also ran it through to get the lovely embossing on the edge:

Then I put the actual card together using a lovely Kraft card base at 7″ x 5″ which went so perfectly with the Kraft colour tones in the image itself. I also found some really pretty American Crafts Pink Textured Card and the patterned card was actually a pre-scored patterned card base that I chopped up and used on the front and on the inside of the card. The gorgeous shiny matting was from Hunkydory and was their holographic card which I think added something extra to the card and just finished it off nicely. The brads were a Basic Grey fabric brad and the flowers were just from my crafty stash. The Stick pins were from my stash:-

So thats todays card and I hope you like it too. I am really pleased with how it came together in the end and I really like the 2 contrasting colours that were blended on her skirt.  I tried it as a bit of an experiment on colour blending and I think that turned out really well, better than I thought. So have a great craft day,

  1. Hello Amanda 🙂 I am so enjoying your posts about the ‘colouring’. As I type, all of my ‘crafting lovelies’ are in storage waiting for my ‘creative space’ (aka my basement lol) to be ‘created and organized’. I am so sad to think of everything sitting idle in plastics tubs as the work continues. However, it gives me the time to check your posts each day and dream of the day that my hands can get back to doing what they love 🙂 Waiting patiently for your course on ‘colouring’ 🙂 Have a great day !!!!

    • Ahh no that must be torture not being able to get to your stuff. Cant you just get a few markers out and at least do some colouring that you can then store up to make into a card later ? thank you for your lovely compliments and glad that I have helped through your crafty deprivation lol 🙂

    • thank you Miss Kitty Cat, I was pleased how the two contrasting colours blended together. Just shows how versatile the alcohol markers are 🙂

  2. Very cute card. I love your design, the added pearls/pins is really neat. Thank you for stopping by and participating over at Through The Craft Room Door. Hope to see you again really soon! Melanie, DT

  3. You did a fabulous job on this card! I really love how it is both whimsical (the girl is TOO CUTE) and sophisticated at the same time. I like how you added dimension and depth with those gorgeous flower bunches and especially liked the addition of the decorative pearl pins. The color palette is so refreshing and you did a masterful job of coloring! The blending you did on her outfit looks great with the colors that make up your card. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. I truly enjoyed seeing this lovely creation!

  4. Love all the pink. Thank you so much for joining my Craftyhazelnut’s Patterned Paper August challenge with your lovely creation – hope to see you again soon x
