Hiya, today I have the second part of my spring card collections for you – Spring Bird Cards . I’ve got a couple of different card for you which I think are just such pretty images & colours and just perfect for the upcoming Spring season, I hope you will agree.

So the first of our cards is and A5 landscape card in a lovely bright pink that I then covered in a piece of K & Co paper from their annual giant stack from a few years back. Basically each year K & Co release all their paper collections in one big stack for the year. Next I took a complimentary piece of paper from that same stack and matted that onto the first piece but leaving some of the other paper showing on the right hand side because I thought it was such a pretty design that it was a shame to cover it completely. Also I wanted the second piece to act almost as a mat for the main element – the gorgeous glittery floral sticker. Finally I added the sentiment, unfortunately I can’t remember what stamp set it was from because the packaging was no longer with the set (ugh!). After stamping the sentiment I made it into a banner and then mattered it onto some darker pink paper just to make it pop a little from the page.

Next I had some gorgeous Hunkydory Decoupage sheets of beautiful little birds. With careful distribution of the Decoupage layers I was able to get two cards from the one sheet of Decoupage. I really think that the original image didn’t need all those layers and therefore splitting up to make two cards really worked well. The Decoupage was already die cut so I just popped it out and layered it up into my two elements. Then I took a complimentary piece of patterned Hunkydory card and again was able to split one piece to make the two cards and still have half a piece of card stock remaining. Finally I took the two pale pink A6 cards, matted and layered, added sentiments and decoration in the designs you can see in the photographs.

The final card I have for you today was made based around a little birds Decoupage that I found in my stash. I had actually cut it out and layered it already, it was something I had completely forgotten I had made as it was several years ago I had put it together! Next I took some complimentary sheets of paper and a stepper card and covered the stepper with the the papers and borders as you can see. Next I took my circular bird topper put it to the left of the stepper card and a Hunkydory sentiment on the bottom right. However I still felt there was something missing so I made that gorgeous felt bow from my Sue Wilson bow dies. (Do check out my store for more of her dies, they are fantastic to cut with and in fact, coincidently, I have a card video coming up soon of a card made entirely using her dies). I felt that this bow just finished the card off nicely and added a really elegant tactile element to it. I hope you agree?

  1. I didn’t know that K&Co released all their paper collection in one big stack. I’ll keep my eyes on this (thought I probably already have enough paper to last me a lifetime *ooops*). Thank you for the info.
Your cards are lovely. I really like the cute birdies. Makes me feel like the spring is already here.
    Hugs! xx

    • Thank you, glad you liked. My plan was to make us all feel spring was on its way even if it was still really cold lol! x
