Hiya, today is the next episode of my new monthly series that will be based around the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month November . As you may recall from last month I have subscribed to the Kit and so each month we will have a Photo Post, Video post and a number of exclusive Instagram Posts. The plan is that each month I will make a number of cards using as much as possible only the products included in the Kit. I do not include in that the basics such as glue, however I will try to even make the card base from the contents of the Kit. So this months kits contents are:-

1 Sheet 8.5 x 11 inch Cardstock Bazzill Peppermint

I have to say I really liked this kit and I loved the colours of it. I have made 1/2 dozen cards for you from it, and there is still plenty of paper and card left and of course the stamps are for always. I have one card for you today, a video project for you tomorrow and then at least 4 cards on instagram – which will not be shown anywhere else! Click the link in the left hand menu here on my website if you want to have a look at what is going on over on my Instagram account 🙂

But to todays card. First I made myself a card base of 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ from the Peppermint Bazzill card from the kit which is this stunning strong Aqua / Turquoise kind of colour, which matched in really nicely with most of the patterned paper in the kit. Next I took the SSS White card from the kit, cut it down the middle to create a piece that was 8″ x 5 1/4″ which meant I left myself enough behind to create a whole card base if I wanted to plus a teeny bit extra! I then used the dies below to cut out my hills from the one half of this piece of card and the other half I stamped 5 trees in the various SSS inks also shown below. It looks like I used more inks because I didn’t clean the stamps between stamping so it left a little residue of colour that then mixed with the next colour I inked on the tree. I was frankly being lazy but actually in the end liked the result so carried on and only cleaned them at the end lol!  I then fiddled about getting the layout how I wanted and I included the ‘draft’ layout in my photo here so when I took it apart to glue down I would remember what I had decided on:

To put it together I used my Pinfalir Glue Gel as it gave me much more flexibility on the variety of heights I needed on even the same element. For example a tree starts at the bottom of it flat against the ‘hill’ and then the top of it is above that hill and against the one below so the gap there is much more. Using the glue gel means I can do a little bit at the bottom of the tree and then add more to give more height at the top of the tree. Next once it was all glued down I stamped a sentiment in the corner from SSS ‘Christmas’ Stamp Set which I got as a set with its complimentary die. Finally I added some Crystal Stickles to the hills and trees for a lovely dazzling finish:
