Hiya, today I wanted to do a really clean and simple christmas card but not necessarily one that was actually simple to make. You know a bit like making up your face in the ‘natural look’ which always takes twice as much effort and time as when you slap it on your face like a clown! lol! Anyway I fell in love with the stamp from Lili of the Valley and thought it would be nice to use some of my new embossing powders to give it an elegant expensive feel. I then made use of some metallic watercolour pencils to colour it in. I could have used markers or even normal pencils but somehow I felt that would take away from the gorgeous metallic embossing. These metallic watercolour pencils took a little getting used to to use, but I found the best way was to use the paint brush direct onto the nib of the pencil to pick up the colour. I wanted a really gorgeous delicate look and some shading. So by doing it this way I was able to control the water to colour ratio much easier. So here it is, my CAS Lili of the Valley Embossed Garland Christmas Card and I hope you like it as much as I do:-

And just so you can see these are the watercolour pencils I used, aren’t they fab?

Anyway have a great craft day and see you again soon with another project, hugs

  1. Gorgeous! I love embossing…my first attempt fell flat but I will keep on trying. The metallic watercolor pencils are fabulous. I had no idea something like that existed. Thanks for sharing.

    • I had the same problem until I found these embossing powders. Hence why I am adding them to my store, so give them a go, I will be adding a load more colours over the next month so wait til then 🙂
