Hi Guys, how are you? are you getting used to the fact that it is actually now December? every year since I was a little girl my Godfather has sent me a Advent calendar (I will post of photo of it on my Instagram for you). It is always something elegant and grown up now but still once that hits my doormat on the 1st December for me that is when Christmas has begun. He always asks me whether he should still send them to me – after all I am getting on a bit now! well I say PFFF! to that, I am only in my early 40s and I don’t care if I am in my 90s I still want to see that advent calendar come through my door! So now it is the 2nd December I have opened two doors and put up all the decorations and tree – again pop over to Instagram, I have my christmas audio books and music in my iPod and generally I am feeling very festive.

So to todays card, I just love love love this stamp. It is probably my favourite christmas stamp ever and I know it is a new one to me, but I love it. I did order more penguin ones from Lili of the Valley which are also gorgeous but this is still my favourite. So to make my Lili Cute Penguin Christmas Banner Card I decided that it really didn’t need anything other than itself as it was such a nice stamp. So I took some of that lovely thick Simon Says Stamp Card Stock, stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, let it dry so there was no chance of smudging, then got colouring.

I kept the colours fairly simple but I did want to get a really nice shade on the penguins so I used a few cool greys on there. I think they turned out good. I saw on someone else image – sorry I don’t have a record of who it was, it was a case of just seeing the image in passing and then when I got the stamp myself these ideas popped back. Anyway I saw someone had added some cute little pink cheeks and also the blue ‘halo’ around the image which I think gave a really nice effect. As you know I have now got these stunning embossing powders and of course I sprinkled on glitter which got captured by the melting embossing powders and you don’t even have to use ink, I just sprinkled it on and heated from underneath – a must otherwise the powder goes everywhere lol! and voila an amazing effect. I have these now in my shop so go check out all the colours and more things being added all the time.

So thats it for today, I know that there are a lot of photos that look similar but when you look closely at each one it does highlight just something a little different in each picture. Anyway I hope you love this card as much as I do, guys to you all,

      • Thanks! I’m really into penguins this year. I bought 3 rubber stamps from different companies and 2 or 3 digis. Better start coloring them up!
