Hiya, today I have a card that was made because I wanted to show that stickers can create beautiful elegant cards and are not just the tool of the beginner crafter.
Now clearly it would depend on the stickers you use, but there are plenty out there now that allow you to create fabulous cards and are of course still a great medium for beginners because done right you are then able to create lovely cards with ease whereas perhaps when you start out some of the other techniques are daunting. However I do feel that as crafters there is a little snobbery towards stickers in that us more experienced crafters look down upon them as the kind of thing we used to use but would not dream of using now. I dont know about you but I rarely see them used on youtube for e.g. So I wanted to make a card that is great for newbie crafters but also could for us more experienced ones too as you can take what I have done here and make it more if you wanted. I hope you enjoy and do leave your comments as to when you last used stickers (I dont just mean a sentiment I mean as the focal point of your card) and maybe a photo or two on my Facebook would be fab – link on the right here. I admit, I often don’t think of ‘sticker cards’ as card making, but the ones I am thinking of there are beyond basic and just a few stickers stuck on a base, as I have seen in my local chemist being sold (by one of the patrons).
Your card actually incorporates many facets that I think of in card making, including a pleasing design, layers of dsp, ribbon, gems as well as stickers. Not your basic ‘sticker card’ and well worth receiving :o)
That was exactly my point I think most people think like that about sticker cards and the style of them, and it really wasn’t difficult to achieve this look, not beyond beginners and also for us more experienced crafters we could go further with the design if we wanted. But here I wanted to show that stickers do not have to be that kind of card and I think from what you say you see that too which makes me happy. Thanks for watching sweet xxx
