Hiya, so for todays video I have, due to requests, a Bake Date with Lolli video for you. However as something a little different I went for a savoury dish, the first we have done.

I know we have done a lot of sweet bakes so far from cakes to sweets so I really wanted to do a savoury dish for my next bake Date. I had wanted to make a homemade Pizza however that just kept not happening on our menus so I thought I would show you a yummy easy to make fresh made lasagne instead. So here is my Bake Date Easy Peasy Fresh Lasagne video:-

Now as always with Bake Date I like to write out the recipe for you as well just in case you are in hurry:-

  • Lasagne Sheets
  • Béchamel Sauce or White Sauce
    • Dolmio Creamy White Lasagne Sauce; or
    • Flour
    • Butter
    • Salt & Pepper
  • Lasagne Mince Sauce
    • Fresh Tomatoes
    • Tomato Puree
    • Onion
    • Mixed Herbs
    • Beef Mince
    • Salt & Pepper
  • Grated Cheese

Lasagne Mince Sauce

  • In your Saucepan fry the mince off to lightly brown
  • Add chopped Tomatoes, Onion and Tomato Puree
  • Add Seasoning as desired and cook on the hob for 30-40 mins (or til cooked) on low heat.
  • Put to one side til needed

Béchamel Sauce or White Sauce

  • If you are going the easy route, then open jar! lol!

If not then:

    • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
  • Stir in the flour. Whisk in a little of the milk at a time, stirring continuously until you have a smooth, slightly thick sauce.
  • Remove from the heat; season with salt and pepper.

Lasagne Sheets

  • Remove from packaging and place sheets in shallow dish
  • Pour over the sheets boiling water
  • Leave sheets in water for 1 minute approx just til they soften.
  • Tip off the water carefully and leaving sheets in dish put to one side

To make your lasagne you will need a large shallow ovenproof dish. The key with Lasagne is to know before how many Pasta layers there will be so that you then know how many layers of mince you will have and then will know roughly how much to use on each layer. So for e.g. my lasagne has three layers of pasta and two layers of Mince. I know therefore that I need to use roughly half of my mince in each layer. So in your dish layer as follows:-

  1. Mince
  2. Pasta
  3. Béchamel Sauce
  4. Grated cheese
  5. Pasta
  6. Mince
  7. Pasta
  8. Béchamel Sauce
  9. Grated Cheese

Place in the oven at 160 – 180c for about 45 mins to 1hour til golden brown and bubbling on the surface.

Remove from oven and serve.

So I hope you enjoyed todays Bake Date and I will see you again very soon with the brand new, literally arrived today Sue Wilson launch! Til then have a great craft day, hugs,

Amanda Evans
